The Decade in 10 albums or less

We’re kicking off the blog with a list. Admittedly, not the most original idea. But seeing as how the decade is nearing a close, it makes sense for a blog such as this to recap what exactly has happened in the past 10 years.

Which brings me to the lists. For the past month or so, each of the three editors here have laboured and poured over every album released between 2000 and, well, yesterday. I’m not kidding when I say it’s harder then it seems – after all, this was a pretty good decade for music. And to trim down the thousands upon thousands of albums released this decade to just ten… well, that’s why each of us has our own lists, with our own reasoning behind why each album was chosen. Trust me, they aren’t all carbon copies of Pitchfork’s.

Starting tomorrow – Tuesday, December the first – Extended Play will run each list, plus a final notes collection on Friday. The lists all are a good sampling of the kind of tastes each editor has, and if I can say so myself, say more about what each editor brings to this blog then any biography could.

Be sure to check them out.

And be sure to let us know why you disagree with each list.
